Tesla Appoints Indian-Origin Vaibhav Taneja as New CFO

Tesla, the electric car maker, has appointed Indian-origin Vaibhav Taneja as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Taneja, who is currently the company’s Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), will take over from Zachary Kirkhorn, who is stepping down after four years in the role.

Taneja has over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting, and has held senior positions at a number of companies, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, McKinsey & Company, and SolarCity. He is a graduate of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

In his new role, Taneja will be responsible for Tesla’s global financial operations, including financial planning and analysis, treasury, investor relations, and tax. He will also be a member of the company’s executive leadership team.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that Taneja is a “highly experienced and talented financial leader” who is “well-positioned to lead Tesla’s finance team as we continue to grow and scale.”

Taneja’s appointment is the latest in a series of changes at Tesla’s executive level. In recent months, the company has also appointed a new chief legal officer, chief operating officer, and head of human resources.

These changes come as Tesla faces a number of challenges, including production bottlenecks, supply chain disruptions, and increasing competition from rivals. However, the company is also on track to deliver record deliveries this year, and it is seen as a leader in the electric vehicle market.

With Taneja at the helm of Tesla’s finance team, the company will be well-positioned to navigate the challenges ahead and continue its growth.
